1.What is Microneedling/Dermapen?

Microneedling is a skin resurfacing technology that uses the skin’s natural healing process to reduce skin imperfections, treat sun damage, and restore a smoother, clearer complexion.

Dermapen is a medically developed skin needling device that uses multiple micro needles in an automated pen. It helps to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, pimple scar, traumatic scar, Stretch marks (thinning of the skin), uneven coloration, skin laxity, removing tan and improving skin texture.

2.How does Microneedling/Dermapen work?

The device makes multiple small needle wounds in the skin up to 2-3 mm; thereby it stimulates the skin produce new collagen & elastic tissue. This remodeling of the skin makes the skin rejuvenated & restructured

4.How Microneedling treatment performed?

After cleansing the skin, numbing gel is applied to the area to be treated for about an hour
Treatment is done using Dermapen which contains multiple needles and is applied on the surface of skin and rolled in various directions.
The treatments is associated with pin point bleeding which is because of creation of small injuries across the skin.The injuries are not visible to the naked eye, but they do trigger the natural healing response, prompting your skin to produce new collagen and elastin and regenerate new, healthy skin cells.
The treatment takes about, half an hour for a full face.

5.What is the Downtime of Dermapen ?

During the first 24 hours after treatment, your skin may feel as though it is sunburned with redness, pin point spots & minor swelling. Ice packs can be used during this time.
The redness & swelling will take around 24 hours to resolve. Full recovery happens in about 2-4 days.

6. What are the possible side effects of Dermapen?

If proper parameters and normal protocols are followed there will be hardly any side effects .
The most common complications of Dermapen treatments: Persisting redness: A reddish brown color may persist for two weeks to two months. This is more common in patients who have fair skin Color Changes: The treated area may heal with darker discoloration & can be improved with depigmenting creams

7. What are the Post operative measures?

Wash your face with the given face Cleanser, Use sunscreen SPF 50+, every 4th hourly, apply post procedure cream prescribed by your doctor, and avoid sunlight strictly by using scarf, dupatta, cap, hat, helmet, and black umbrella.

Avoid the following activities post procedure for at least 2 days:

Direct UV Light exposure
Intensive cardio
Further clinical treatments like Chemical peels, Lasers, Filler injections
Swimming in chlorinated pools

8. When will I see results?

You will see some immediate results but you will see the full results after 4 sittings. During this period, your skin will feel smoother and looks less blotchy. As the color returns to normal, you will see fewer lines, less blotchiness, improvement of scars and stretch marks and skin looks glowing.

9.How many session one will requires with Dermapen?

It depends on the indication being treated and also on the patient. By and large 5‐6 sessions are recommended for best results.
